The Immortalized Mouse Hepatocyte SIMHCLOCK Cells contain a bioluminescent marker gene that reports on the circadian phase of the cells. The presence of the Per2:Luc reporter gene allows real time monitoring of clock phase. The major characteristics of this cell line include its high metabolic capacity, liver-like properties, robust synchronizable circadian clock, and capacity to stably express additional marker. When compared with other established cell lines (i.e. HepG2), the SIMHCLOCK cells show a significantly better metabolic and xenobiotic capacity. This ability of the Immortalized Mouse Hepatocyte SIMHCLOCK Cells is useful in studying treatment of liver cells with various physical or chemical compounds at defined stages of the circadian cycle and analyze the time-of-day exposure effects. It contains a bioluminescent marker gene that reports on the circadian phase of the cells.
