This novel cell line is a useful model for studying lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). The UN-SCC679 is one of two (Cat. T8091) phontypically different transplantable LUSC cell lines. The differences between the two cell lines serve as an excellent model of heterogeneity among human squamous cell carcinoma. Both cell lines represent the organotropism of LUSC in humans and display affinity for brain, bones, liver, and adrenal glands. These cell lines are suitable models for LUSC research.
