C57BL/6 mice were instilled with an adenovirus encoding Cas9, Cre and sgRNAs targeting murine EML4 and ALK. After 2-3 months, tumors were excised, digested and submitted to standard tissue culture. The cell line bears the Eml4-Alk fusion oncogene which can be detected at the mRNA and protein level. The cell line was derived from a tumor that arose in a C57BL/6 mouse and readily forms orthotopic tumors in the left lung. The EA1 cell line is wild-type for TP53.
