This H4 neuroglioma cell line stably expresses bioluminescent-protein complementation pairs of alpha-synuclein (α-synuclein) and luciferase (synLuc1/synLuc2) under tetracycline regulatable expression (tet-off). α-synuclein is implicated in Lewy body related disorders like Parkinsons, dementia, Lewy bodies, and multiple system atrophy. Therefore, this cell line is suitable for studies investigating the pathogenic role of α-synuclein in such diseases. Complementation of α-synuclein with luciferase allows for in vitro imaging to investigate protein misfolding and aggregation. Control cell line:Cat.
