149RM cells were derived from a male human with penile squamous cell carcinoma. The cell line is tuminorgic in mice and has a very high proliferation rate and metastasis potential. The 149RM cells are sensitive to cisplatin however they are resistant to anti-EGFR therapy and unresponsive to androgen. The 149RM cell line may be used for further investigation of penile squamous cell carcinoma and development of relevent therapeutic treatment.
