PriCoat™ T25 Flasks (G299) are recommended for optimal cell culture. Iscove’s Modified Dulbecco’s Medium (IMDM) (TM505) + 10% FBS + 1% Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255) ,37.0°C ,5% CO₂. 200 µg/ml Geneticin/G418 (G271) for selection. Note: Selection drugs should be added to the culture medium after the first passage to ensure cells have recovered from freeze-thaw conditions. |

Heat shock protein 90 (HSP90), an ATP-dependent molecular chaperone is required for cell growth, survival and other signal transductions. HSP90 is expressed in tumor cells at greater quantities than normal cells, therefore serving as a hallmark for cancer. HSP90AB1 WT and D294A mutant cDNA was transfected into human chronic myelogenous leukemia (K-562) cells. Protein expression was confirmed through Western blot and PCR. This cell line is a useful model for HSP90 related investigations.
