Immortalized Mouse Sertoli Cells (D-4-A) are derived from transgenic mice expressing polyomavirus large T antigen. These cells are immortalized and are not capable of forming tumors. Morphology exhibited by the cells is large cells with extensive cytoplasmic elongations in appearance, but changes at higher densities exhibiting a cuboidal appearance. The Immortalized Mouse Sertoli Cells (D-4-A) are a reliable tool to use to investigate sertoli biology. RT-PCR used to detect Sertoli cell markers.
