These Immortalized Ovarian Surface Epithelial Cell Lines were established by scraping the surface of healthy overaies from patients without cancer. Immortaliztion of the cell lines was acheived through lentiviral transfection of cells with either HPV E6/E7 or SV40 T antigen. RT-PCR was used to confirm successful insertion of genes for immortalization and Western blot was used to detect protein expression of the epithelial cell markers cytokeratin 7 and cytokeratin 18. These cells do not express the malignant features of cancer cells. The cells are suitable for ovarian cancer research and can be highly useful as a control cell source.
