This cell line is a retinal precursor cell line derived from the retina of Sprague-Dawley rats. Incompetent retroviral vectors carrying the 12S E1A adenovirus gene were used to immortalize the cells. Cells exhibit contact-inhibition, achorage-dependent growth, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, and RT-PCR performed for characterization
