Penl1 cells were derived from a male human with penile squamous cell carcinoma. The cell line will form tumors in immunodeficient mice. The Penl1 cells are sensitive to both cisplatin and epirubicin however, they are resistant to anti-EGFR therapy and unresponsive to androgen. This cell line may be used for further investigation of penile squamous cell carcinoma and development of therapeutic treatment.
