SCCF1 cells were derived from laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma tumor of a cat. The cell line expresses high levels of cytokeratin and p16, low levels of vimentin, and no/low expression of p53 protein. SCCF1 cells also express low levels of parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP). Will form tumors in nude mice, but do not readily invade bone. This cell line may be used as an in vitro model of H/N cancer and investigation of genetic dysregulation in neoplastic keratinocytes of the feline oropharynx.
