These stable cell lines, featuring a knockout of the TRPM4 protein, were generated using H9c2 rat cardiomyocyte line. Protein knockout was mediated using the Guide-it CRISPR-Cas9 system. H9c2 cells were transfected with plasmid vectors and the targeted mutation was confirmed through DNA sequencing and Western blot analysis. TRPM4 is not only involved in the development of cardiac arrhythmia but also associated with cancer development (i.e prostate cancer, large B cell lymphoma). Therefore, this cell line is a useful tool for cardiovascular disease and cancer related research.
