Popis

Cells were isolated from an ascitic fluid patient with an ovarian tumor histopathologically classified as ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma, poorly differentiated (G3) and in stage FIGO IV. OvBH-1 cell showed expression of cytokeratins (CK): CK1,5,6,8,10,14,18,7,16/18, alongside vimentin, tumor-associated antigens (CA125, OV-TL3), p53 protein, c-rebB-2 oncoprotein detected by IHC. Sequencing of all coding exons of TP53 gene showed a natural genetic polymorphism namely a G-to-A substitution at nucleotide 13 432 GAG to GAA, corresponding to codon 2233 in exon 6.OvBH-1 cells are notable for their cytomorphological diversity and present two morphologically distinct cell types. The dominant cell type within the OVBH-1 line appears to have frank malignancy features, suggesting a more aggressive cancer phenotype. The epithelial origin of both cell types is confirmed by immunophenotypic staining using antibodies against different cytokeratins. The expression of tumor-associated antigens (CA125, OP-TL3) was found in both cell subtypes, reaffirming their origin from ovarian carcinoma. The OvBH-1 cell line has temperature-sensitive properties. This cell line is suitable for investigating the biological changes that contribute to carcinogenesis and chemoresistance.
