The PINK1-YFP-IRES-DsRed Expressing HCT116 Stable Cell Line (T3510) was engineered to express the PTEN-induced putative kinase 1 (PINK1) tagged with Yellow Fluorescent Protein (YFP) and linked to DsRed through an Internal Ribosome Entry Site (IRES). PINK1 is a key mitochondrial serine/threonine kinase involved in mitochondrial quality control and autophagy. This cell line allows for the visualization of PINK1’s localization and behavior in response to mitochondrial damage, as it plays a crucial role in recruiting PARKIN to depolarized mitochondria to initiate mitophagy.
