The olfactory bulb is located within the vertebrate forebrain, in which it functions to receive nerve endings/input from the nasal cavity. The sense of smell is associated with the nerve tissues of the olfactory bulb.Immortalized Mouse Olfactory Bulb Cells (OBL21a) is immortalized with non-replicating retrovirus carrying the avian Myc gene. It expresses neuronal markers such as neurofilament (NF), tetanus toxin (TT), GFAP and A2B5. The OBL21a cells are non-tumorigenic and have multipotent morphologies. It is a valuable in vitro tool for studies relating to the functions and the biology of the olfactory bulb.The cells express resistance to 0.3 mg/ml G418 (Cat. No.G271).
