This DLD-1 parental cell features a stable knockout of Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) which belongs to the Sirt family of proteins characterized by their enzymatic activity as NAD+-dependent deacetylases. SIRT1 is involved in regulating various cellular processes, including aging, transcription, apoptosis, inflammation, and stress resistance. It influences cellular metabolism and energy homeostasis by deacetylating key metabolic and regulatory proteins, such as p53, NF-κB, and PGC-1α.
