2XSB cells are derived from a human with malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs). This cell line is invasive and is tuminergic in immunodeficient mice. The NF1 allele of the cell line is intact unlike the original tumor but the Polycomb Repressor Complex 2 is fully functional. The 2XSB cell line is great for further research and investigation of potential treatments for MPNSTs.
