E-cadherin (Ecad) is prominently studied for its role in tumorigenesis due the loss of E-cadherin is a critical initiation step in the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition associated with the invasiveness of tumors causing poor prognosis. The E-cadherin Stable MIA PaCa-2 Cell Line is a tool for tumor-related studies on the effects Ecad has in cancer prognosis and antitumor therapies. Ecad is a relevant biomarker for therapies, such as for TK/GCV (thymidine kinase/ganciclovir) therapy.
