These cell lines were developed using MCF-7, a human breast cancer cell line expressing estrogren, progesterone and glucocorticoid receptors. Flavopiridol is a cdk inhibitor used in human clinial trials, however, the cellular resistance mechanisms are not yet understood. This MCF-7 sub-cell line (FLV500) is resistant to 500 nM flavopiridol. Cells were selected during MF-7 cell exposure to increasing flavopiridol concentrations. The cell lines are suitable for drug discovery related research.
