PriCoat™ T25 Flasks (G299) or Applied Cell Extracellular Matrix (G422) are recommended for optimal cell culture. Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) ,High Glucose (TM500) + 10% FBS + 2 mM L-Glutamine (G275) + 1% Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255) ,37.0°C ,5% CO₂. 2.0 µg/ml Blasticidin for selection. Note: Selection drugs should be added to the culture medium after the first passage to ensure cells have recovered from freeze-thaw conditions. |

These particular HeLa cells stably express the ARP1 (actin related protein-1) protein (a subunit of dynactin). Dynactins role in the cell is to bind to microtubules and cytoplasmic dynein. ARP1 has been shown to be the domain of dynactin that binds to membrane vesicles. It is involved in various processes such as ER-golgi transport and chromosome movement. These cells are designed to be suitable for research in cell cycle progression. High magnifications (400-1000x) are required to observe the GFP-tagged fusion due to the intracellular localization of specific subcellular structures. Cell line was generated by retroviral infection (pBABE MMLV).</p>
