This PDL8 HUVEC cell line was developed through the introduction of pre-miR-216a into PDL8 HUVECs via recombinant lentiviral vectors, leading to a stable genetically modified line characterized by increased expression of miR-216a, which has been implicated in endothelial senescence and inflammation. This cell line serves as a valuable tool for investigating the molecular mechanisms of vascular aging and the pathogenesis of related diseases, such as atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease. Unique to this cell line is its ability to express miR-216a at elevated levels, making it particularly useful for studying the role of this microRNA in endothelial dysfunction, inflammation, and the Smad3/IjBa signaling pathway.
