MuCaP321 is an epithelial prostate cancer cell line derived from a PSA-Cre targeted Pten knockout (KO) primary prostate tumor in FVB mice. This cell line exhibits a fast growth rate and forms syngeneic tumors in immunocompetent mice within 1-2 months. Histologically, MuCaP321 syngraft tumors predominantly display a sarcomatoid carcinoma growth pattern with low CK8 expression. This cell line is characterized by constitutive activation of the PI3K/Akt pathway, as indicated by elevated levels of phosphorylated Akt and its downstream targets. The cells proliferates very rapidly into tumors after subcutaneous injection.MuCaP321 is useful for studying the aggressive, undifferentiated aspects of prostate cancer and the tumor microenvironment’s immune cell composition, particularly the low presence of CD3+ T-cells.Additional cell lines from the MuCaP model:Cat.
