Actively transcribed genes are mediated by KMT3a in humans. Within that protein complex is a eukaryotic specific subunit heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein L (HnRNP-L). HnRNP-L is a member of a large family of RRM domain containing RNA-binding proteins. It has been implicated in various RNA-related processes particularly in mediating selective exon inclusion during alternative splicing and facilitating polyadenylation. This cell line can be used to study the role HnRNP-L plays in regulating chromatin modification as well as post transcriptional events and co-transcriptional pre-mRNA processing.
