This cell line features a stable mutation in the internal tandem duplication (ITD) – the most common mutation in Fms-like tyrosine kinase (FLT3), often implicated in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). As FLT3-ITD mutations are associated with AML through its role in cell proliferation and tumor formation, this cell line is suitable for studies investgating the association of FLT3-ITD in AML formation and progression.
