The GJC1 (Connexin 45, Cx45) Knockout HeLa Stable Cell Line was developed using transduction with LentiCRISPRv2 virus expressing SpCas9 and sgRNA for human GJC1 which encodes for Connexin 45 (Cx45), a critical gap junction protein involved in intercellular communication. The absence of Cx45 in this cell line results in a loss of gap junctional communication, making it a unique tool for studying the role of Cx45 in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and signal transduction. This cell line is particularly valuable for research on cardiovascular diseases and cancer, where Connexin 45 has been implicated in the regulation of cell growth and apoptosis. The transduced cells were selected with 2 ug/mL puromycin.
